Obituary

Mark peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home the afternoon of
May 11 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was surrounded and
supported by his family and caregivers during his last days of life.
Mark was born in Natchez, Mississippi to the late Addis, Jr. and
Thelma (Clark) Watson.

Mark grew up in Natchez as a member of Zion Chapel AME Church
where he was baptized at an early age and served as a junior usher.
He attended and graduated from Holy Family School in 1969. Mark
went on to attend Southern University. As an adult, he resided in
Natchez, MS, Dallas, TX, and Waxahachie, TX. He has resided in
Waxahachie since 2001 until the time of his passing. His passion and
dedicated life’s work was as a mechanic.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters, Keisha Jackson,
Brooke (Kendrick) Pope, and Loren Watson. His grandchildren,
Miyah Williams, Keilan Jackson, Amari Watson, Lex Jackson,
Kamden Pope, Kross Pope, Aniyah Lampkins, Korinne Pope and
Mikai Lampkins. His siblings, Mattiel (late Willie) Swanson-Brooks,
Kenneth (Mary) Watson, and Lionel Smith. He was preceded in death
by his parents Addis, Jr. and Thelma Watson and his son Mark
Martin.
