Chiquita Lynn Cooper-Mangrum was an Educator with the Fort Worth Independent School District (ISD) for more than 18 years; she passed away at home Thursday, August 20, 2020.

Chiquita Lynn Cooper was born on October 13, 1964, in Longview, Texas to the parentage of Robert L. Cooper and Era J. Blake. Robert, her father, preceded her in death.

Chiquita received her education in the Fort Worth public school, and a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Texas Wesleyn University; she also received two Master Degrees from Prairie View A&M University in Education and Counseling.

Chiquita united in marriage with Percy King Mangrum, III on July 19, 1999. From this union a beautiful daughter was born (Caitlynn). Chiquita committed her life to Christ at an early age. She was a longtime member of Mitchell Blvd Church of Christ and later she became a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ in Arlington.

Chiquita dedicated her life to teaching the youth of Fort Worth ISD. From Dunbar High School to William James Middle School and finally to her most recent assignment at Trimble Tech High School. She loved teaching her students. She wanted nothing more than to uplift her students to their fullest potential.

Chiquita was a loving person and wanted to help everyone.

Survivors: Left behind to cherish her memories are Era Cooper, Caitlynn Mangrum, Gary Cooper (Jennifer), David Cooper (Aisha), Bobby Cooper-Terry (Brandon), Cameron Cooper, Kaila Cooper, Brooklyn Cooper, Addison Cooper, Evelyn Younger, Teresa Sydney, Cedric Younger, Marian Wesley, Keith Blake, Dequavian Blake, Sammie Kennedy, Mary Stanford, and a host of other relatives and friends; especially Debra, Sonya, and Bro. G.H. Glasker, whom she Loved dearly.

I worked closely with Chiquita Mangrum at Dunbar and substituted for her at Tech! Her students always loved her, and she was very passionate about teaching! She was a joy to be around. She will be greatly missed!
